[VIDEO] Preparing black tiger shrimp cluster ponds in Bangladesh

How can smallholder shrimp farmers dramatically increase productivity? This video highlights a collaborative initiative led by the Department of Fisheries of Bangladesh to strengthen black tiger shrimp farming through improved pond design, enhanced biosecurity, SPF postlarvae, better-quality feed, and optimized harvest practices. With production expected to increase from 250 kg/ha to 1,000 kg/ha, the program demonstrates how coordinated technical support and partnerships can improve productivity, product quality, and livelihoods. The initiative is part of a broader World Bank-supported collaboration involving the Bangladesh Shrimp and Fish Foundation and the Global Seafood Alliance.
